An aquaintenance was recently attending a writers’ conference on Maui and wanted to extend his business trip into a relaxing vacation. His discussion on how he went about finding the best Maui vacation rental homes follows:
I wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the resorts and relax, breathing in the ocean air and soaking up the beauty of the island. I can think of no better place to do that than historic Lahaina, where author Herman Melville spent some time during Lahaina’s whaling era to gain inspiration for some of his most notable works. The Lahaina Bungalow, with its white fenced backyard filled with tropical landscpe of palms and an aquiculture garden set against the mountain backdrop, would also meet my needs among private vacation rental homes. 
The bungalow is pet friendly, permitting me to bring my dog! The bungalow is available by the bedroom or the whole house to accommodate 12 guests, with a shared kitchen and a bathroom. One set of linens are provided for each private room. The owner lives onsite and loves to provide personal concierge services, often arranging guided tours, surf lessons, snorkel or bike rentals and transportation. Lahaina Bungalow is close to some of Maui's most popular surf and beach spots like Puamana Beach Park, Break Wall and Shark Pit. And, it’s not far from Kamehameha Iki Beach Park or the Lahaina Aquatic Center. I enjoy the quiet moments spent in the garden, sitting on the patio or wading in the pool complete with a rain shower waterfall.
